FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Career Best for Gary BinghamMarch 30, 2006 --Gary Bingham enjoyed the ride of his life as he reached the 200 mph mark in a career best run of 6.828 elapsed time at 200.20 mph. Gary achieved this milestone in his storied career with the aid of his new Speedtech Innovative Nitrous System. With the aid of Speedtech founder and Pro Modified racer Shannon Jenkins and his crew, Gary piloted the Doug Herbert Performance Center Grand Am into the #1 qualifying position in the opening round of Top Sportsman qualifying at the eMax Drag Racing Series Amalie Oil Texas Nationals in San Antonio TX this past weekend. Gary caught the IHRA announcing staff as well as his family off guard with this career best pass. It even caught Gary off guard as well. “I knew it was a good run, but I wasn’t set up to make a spectacular pass. I didn’t have my good nitrous TCI converter in the Doug Herbert Performance Grand Am and I wasn’t expecting to go that fast. Shannon and his crew really know their business when it comes to nitrous systems. I was worried about qualifying at some of the Top Sportsman fields this year where there have been 7.00 second bumps, but not anymore. After that pass Shannon showed me where to find more horsepower in the tune-up. This should be an awesome year!” Gary’s #1 qualified position only last one round but Gary remained in the #2 position for the event. Gary lost in 1st round by .01 to Jeff Hintz. “It was a really close race. Jeff is a good driver and a tough competitor.
