Lisa Bingham

Lisa with nephew, Levi Dwayne Rice
Pit Crew & Driver
Relationship: Gary's youngest daughter, 21 years old. She is a senior at High
Point University where she is very active in Campus Crusade, leads a Bible Study
and is majoring in Human Relations.
Lisa attended her first race when she was only 4 days old. Renee was ready to
get out of the house and wanted to see how Gary was doing at the local bracket
race, so she and Lisa drove over to watch him race. Lisa has literally grown up
at the races and on ESPN2. Since 1991, Lisa and her sister, Christy, have
received an incredible amount of TV coverage as they have accompanied their dad
in his racing career. Even Lisa's dog, Katy, was featured on ESPN2 when she gave
birth to 4 puppies during a rain delay at a track in Indiana. Those puppies
became the focal point of the event that day as well- wishers paraded through
the pit area.
Lisa loves animals of all kinds. She owns 2 horses and 3 dogs. She has a very
wonderful grandfather, E.A., who takes care of them when she travels.
Lisa loves traveling with her family to various tracks across the nation. She
has many friends that she looks forward to seeing at the IHRA events. Racing has
given Lisa a good perspective about people and places from many areas of the USA
and Canada. She has become acquainted with people of different backgrounds,
lifestyles and customs. Her ready smile and gentle nature has endeared her to
many of them as their friend. She has seen Niagra Falls, "the Grand Canyon of
the East" in New York, the bayous of New Orleans, the land formations of Iowa
that only have duplicates in China, the plains and the buttes of the mid-west
and much, much more that she probably would not have seen had she not traveled
with her family to IHRA events.
Lisa loves helping her dad with the race car. She makes sure that it sparkles
which is sometimes a full-time job at the races. She is the crew chief and has
filled the vacancy left when Christy married Dwayne Rice last November. Lisa
even crew chief-ed for another Top Sportsman team in 1997.
Lisa is also a licensed IHRA Quick Rod driver. Lisa completed the Top
Dragster Driving Experience at the age of 16 with her best E.T. being 5.01 at
137 mph. at the Mooresville 1/8 mile track.
Lisa entered the IHRA competition
in Quick Rod in 2005. She has reached 2 semi-finals, both at Piedmont Pro
Am & Bracket race.
